I’m glad you found this helpful, Thomas! It’s definitely a grind sometimes. I keep telling myself that every paragraph gets me closer, even if I end up deleting that paragraph in two weeks. And will definitely keep you in mind for beta readers!

How will I find the right words?

I am guilty on this one. Way too often, that one word, I can't get quickly can change the paragraph. It can be irritating, but at least the story moves onwards !

Same. I’ll sit forever trying to come up with a word. But it’s so satisfying when you find it!

Wow, Eric. This post could not have come at a better time. I'm working on an epic fantasy novel: I have an outline and a plot synopsis. But when I sit down to write it, no words come. I struggle to put sentences together. I get paralyzed. But your experiences give me confidence that if I keep showing up, I can write this book. Thanks, and best of luck with the space fantasy! If you ever need beta readers somewhere down the line, sign me up.

Props for being conscious enough to remember school pickups because when you’re in the zone, you’re in another world where time and space vanish. Go, Eric, go!
